GUIDE
About the GCSE Religious Studies (AQA) exam and how to study with examplat
About AQA GCSE Religious Studies A (8062)
AQA GCSE Religious Studies A (8062) is a two-year qualification taken in England and Wales. Students study the beliefs, teachings and practices of two religions, and four themes such as relationships and families, religion and life, the existence of God and revelation, and religion, crime and punishment. It is assessed through two written papers and graded from 9 to 1.
Questions ask students to explain beliefs and practices, and to evaluate statements using arguments from religious and non-religious viewpoints. Check AQA's website for the current specification, exam dates and mark schemes.
How to study the question types
Short explain questions reward accurate, specific points: name the belief or teaching, then say how it affects what believers do. Extended evaluation questions need two sides, a reasoned conclusion, and a reference to a source of wisdom or authority where the question asks for one.
Practise using precise terms (for example the names of key teachings and practices) and avoid statements such as all Christians believe unless that is accurate; different traditions often explain the same belief differently.
How to use examplat for GCSE Religious Studies
examplat holds about 1,000 original written-answer practice questions with marks, organised by topic, each with a model answer and a marking guide. The questions are not tied to one religion; use the ones that match the religions and themes you study.
You type your answer and examplat gives an automatic score as a guide, by how many of the key points in the model answer you include. It cannot judge the quality of an argument or balance. Compare your answer with the model and ask your teacher for feedback.
FAQ
FAQ
Can I try it for free?
Yes. 5 sample questions with explanations are free with no sign-up.
Are these past exam questions or an official question bank?
No. All questions and explanations are original content written by Sakakikaen Co., Ltd. They are not reproduced exam questions and are not produced, supervised or endorsed by the exam body.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It runs in your browser, and you can add it to your home screen to use it like an app.
Can I cancel?
You can cancel any time from My Portal and keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
Who runs examplat?
Sakakikaen Co., Ltd., a company registered in Japan. Our company and legal information, including how to contact us, is linked in the footer of every page.
How do payments work?
Checkout is handled by Stripe, a payment provider used worldwide; your card number never reaches us. Prices for this exam are charged in US dollars, and nothing changes your plan without your action.
Do I type written answers?
Yes, for the written questions. Type your answer with the keyboard and examplat gives a score as a guide, based on how many of the key words and numbers in the model answer you include. It is an automatic check, not a human mark, and it does not read meaning, so a rephrased answer can score lower than it deserves. Always compare your answer with the model answer and the marking guide that are shown.
Are these official AQA questions?
No. All questions are original and written by Sakakikaen Co., Ltd. They are not past paper questions, and examplat is not affiliated with or endorsed by AQA. AQA is a trademark of AQA Education.
Does it include study notes or interactive figures?
Not for this exam. Each question comes with an explanation and links to the sources behind it.
