Which of the following is a polymer?
Glycogen is a polysaccharide made of many glucose monomers.
Why each option is right or wrong
- Ribose is a single monosaccharide.
- Correct: many alpha-glucose monomers joined by glycosidic bonds.
- Glycerol is a small alcohol, not a polymer.
- Maltose is a disaccharide, made of only two monomers.

Clear explanations
Right after you answer, you see the conclusion and the explanation, so you understand why — and can handle the same idea in a different form. Each one links to its primary source.
Review only your mistakes
Wrong answers and questions answered with hints are recorded, so you can re-solve just those and spend your time on your weak spots.
HOW IT WORKS
How it works
- 1
Answer one question at a time
Choose 10 random questions, an area, a difficulty level or a timed mock exam. If you are stuck, reveal up to three hints.
- 2
Read the explanation and its source
Right after you answer, you see the conclusion, the reason for each option and links to the primary sources behind it.
- 3
Re-solve what you got wrong
Wrong answers and questions answered with hints are recorded so you can review them together.

GUIDE
About the A-level Biology (AQA) exam and how to study with examplat
About AQA A-level Biology (7402)
AQA A-level Biology (7402) is a two-year qualification taken in England and Wales. The content covers biological molecules, cells, organisms exchanging substances with their environment, genetic information and variation, energy transfers (photosynthesis and respiration), organisms responding to changes in their environments, genetics, populations, evolution and ecosystems, and the control of gene expression. It also assesses practical skills through required practical activities and mathematical skills.
It is assessed through three written papers, each 2 hours, and graded from A* to E. The papers mix multiple-choice, structured, short-answer, data-handling and extended-response questions, and the third paper includes a critical analysis of given experimental data. Check AQA's website for the current specification, exam dates and mark schemes.
How to study the question types
Use the exact terms from the specification: for example, say that an enzyme's active site is complementary to its substrate, and avoid saying it is the same shape. For data questions, quote values from the table or graph, calculate any change or rate, and then say what the data suggest.
For the required practicals, be ready to explain the method, the variables you control, why a result is reliable or valid, and how you would improve the investigation. For statistics, know when to use a chi-squared test, a t-test or a correlation coefficient.
How to use examplat for A-level Biology
examplat holds more than 1,000 original multiple-choice questions organised by the sections of the AQA specification (3.1 to 3.8), with practical skills and mathematical requirements, each with an explanation and links to the AQA specification and other public sources. Choose a section, practise in short sessions, and review the wrong answers together.
The real papers are written, so multiple-choice practice is a study format: it checks precise terms, data reading and calculations, but it does not mark written or extended answers, and it has no study notes or interactive figures for this exam. Use your textbook, class notes and the past papers and mark schemes published by AQA alongside it.
