Which of the following is a non-financial risk?
B is correct. Operational risk comes from failures of people, processes, systems or external events inside or around the organization, not from financial markets.
Why each option is right or wrong
- Incorrect. Credit risk is the risk that a counterparty fails to pay what it owes, which is a financial risk.
- Correct. Examples include fraud, IT failures and processing errors. Other non-financial risks include legal, compliance, model, tax and settlement risk.
- Incorrect. Liquidity risk is the risk of having to sell an asset at a significant discount because few buyers are available, which is a financial risk.

GUIDE
About the CFA Level I exam and how to study with examplat
About the CFA Level I exam
CFA Level I is the first of three exams in the Chartered Financial Analyst Program run by CFA Institute, the most widely recognised credential in investment management. Level I tests the tools and concepts of investment analysis across ten topic areas: ethical and professional standards, quantitative methods, economics, financial statement analysis, corporate issuers, equity investments, fixed income, derivatives, alternative investments and portfolio management.
The exam is computer-based and offered in several testing windows each year. It consists of 180 multiple-choice questions split into two 135-minute sessions, with three answer choices per question. There is no penalty for guessing. Results are reported as pass or fail; the minimum passing score is set by CFA Institute after each window and is not published. Check the CFA Institute website for current windows, registration deadlines and curriculum changes.
Where the points are
Ethics, financial statement analysis, equity, fixed income and portfolio management together make up well over half of the exam, so they deserve most of your time. Ethics in particular is heavily weighted and can tip a borderline result, and its questions are scenario-based rather than definitional. Financial statement analysis rewards practice with real-looking statements: revenue recognition, inventory methods, long-lived assets, income taxes and cash-flow classification come up every window. Quantitative methods and economics are smaller but foundational, and the formulas there reappear in fixed income, derivatives and portfolio management.
How to use examplat for Level I
examplat holds 1,000 original Level I practice questions distributed across all ten topic areas in roughly the proportions of the official weights, each with a worked explanation, the reason every option is right or wrong, and links to the primary sources behind it. Start with ethics and financial statement analysis by topic, add equity and fixed income, then use timed mock sessions of 90 questions to rehearse the pace of 45 seconds per question. Wrong answers and questions answered with hints are logged automatically so you can review them together before exam day.
