Which cortical region receives information about touch, temperature, and movement from the body?
The somatosensory cortex in the parietal lobes receives touch and body-sense information.
Why each option is right or wrong
- The auditory cortex receives information from the ears.
- The visual cortex processes information from the eyes rather than the body surface.
- The somatosensory cortex, just behind the motor areas, receives touch, temperature, and movement information.
- The prefrontal cortex supports planning and reasoning, not body sensation.

About the AP Psychology exam and how to study with examplat

About AP Psychology
AP Psychology is a College Board course and exam on the scientific study of behavior and mental processes. The five units are biological bases of behavior; cognition; development and learning; social psychology and personality; and mental and physical health. Research methods, data interpretation and ethics run through all five units. The exam is held each May and is scored 1 to 5.
The exam has a 90-minute multiple-choice section with 75 questions and a 70-minute free-response section with two questions: an Article Analysis Question and an Evidence-Based Question. Check AP Central for the current course and exam description, exam dates and scoring.
How to study the question types
Most multiple-choice questions describe a short scenario and ask which concept explains it. Name the concept in your own words before you look at the choices, then check the detail that separates it from its neighbours, for example negative reinforcement versus punishment, or the availability versus the representativeness heuristic.
Some questions summarise a study. Find the research method, the independent and dependent variables, how participants were sampled and assigned, and what the statistics can and cannot show. Ask whether the result can be generalised and whether the design allows a causal claim. These are the same skills the Article Analysis Question tests.
How to use examplat for AP Psychology
examplat holds 1,000 original four-choice questions organised by the five units and the topics of the course and exam description, including questions with short summaries of hypothetical studies and small data tables. Each question has an explanation for every choice, three hints and a link to the primary source behind it, such as the course and exam description, NIH institutes, the World Health Organization, the U.S. human subjects regulations or peer-reviewed articles. Choose a unit, practise in short sessions, and review the wrong answers together.
examplat covers multiple-choice practice only: it does not mark free-response answers, and it has no study notes or interactive figures for this exam. Use your textbook and the free-response questions released by the College Board alongside it.
